The Army/Navy football game is the most highly anticipated game of the season. First played in 1980, this game pits the football teams of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York (ARMY) against the United States Navel Academy at Annapolis, Maryland (NAVY) against each other in competitiion for the Commander in Chief's Trophy. Usually the last game of the season for both teams, whoever wins gets exclusive bragging rights for the next year. In order to get the players in spirit, and keep it alive throughout the seasons, the Navy and the Army have the weights at their school stamped with "Beat Army" and "Beat Navy," respectively. However, the seniors realize that although they are competing against each other on this day, every other day they are fighting together overseas. Because of this, at the end of the game, the alma maters of the losing team, and then the winning team are performed. Army and Navy stand beside each other while singing, facing the other students.
Sorry, no upcoming events for Army Black Knights.
