After being "discovered" by Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock spent three years on Saturday Night Live, was the brains behind 1993's CB4, released the groundbreaking Bring the Pain and hilarious Bigger and Blacker, and recently starred in Down To Earth.Chris Rock has lived the American Dream and then some. Raised in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, Rock's early childhood showed hints of things to come. But it was not until an encounter with a comedy legend that his life took a turn for the best.

After he turned 18, his career accelerated at full throttle. First he appeared in movies like New Jack City and Boomerang in supporting roles. Then he co-produced CB4, in which he also starred.

He joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 1990, as a writer and actor, which could be considered the precursor to his brilliant work as a stand-up comedian and writer in his own special, Bring the Pain, and variety show, The Chris Rock Show. While it seems like everything Rock touched turned to gold, he also had his share of duds in the form of movies.
