| The
Cleveland Cavaliers joined the NBA in the 1970-71 season. For many
years after the inauguration the Cavaliers struggled to find their
place in the league. Then after acquiring new owners, the Cavaliers
released a new logo and new team colors, replacing the old wine and
gold with orange, white, and blue. Cleveland continued to have their
ups and downs, until finally Cleveland turned itself around in the
late 1980s to become a consistent Central Division contender. They
held their ground by being one of the best defensive teams in the
league. And in 1995 although they were ranked next to last in the
league, the Cavs excelled by allowing the fewest points in NBA history
(88.5 ppg). And through the years the Bulls continued to crush their
hopes each time they made it to the playoffs, usually by a one to
two point margin. So change continues with the Cavaliers. They have
decided to go with a “new expression of wine & gold” which will
be unveiled at the season finale against Vince Carter and the Toronto
Raptors. There the Cavaliers will boast a roster full of young stars,
none with more then five years experience. Get your tickets to the
unveiling here! |
