First played in 1890, this game pits the football teams of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York (ARMY) against the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland (NAVY) in which they compete for the Commander in Chief's Trophy. Usually the last game of the season for both teams', whoever wins gets exclusize bragging rights. In order to get the players in the spirit, and keep it alive throughout the seasons, the Navy and the Army have the weights at their school stamped with "Beat Army" and "Beat Navy," respectively. However, these senoirs do realize that although they are competing against each other on this day, every other day, they are fighting together overseas. Because of this, at the end of the game, the alma maters of the losing team, and then, the winning team are sung. Both teams stand beside each other while singing, facing the losing side's students first, and then the winning side's students. This year, Army will be home side, which is the Eagles' side of the stadium, and Navy will be on the visitor's side.
