Previously known as the Houston Oilers, the team began play in 1960 as a charter member of the AFL.  The team joined the NFL during the merger and moved to Tennessee in 1997, officially changing their name to the Tennessee Titans in 1999.  The current owner is Bud Adams, the general manager is Mike Reinfeldt, and the head coach is Jeff Fisher.  The Titans play their home games at LP Field.  The following Pro Football Hall of Famers had previously been members of the team:  Elvin Bethea (2003), George Blanda (1981), Earl Campbell (1991), Ken Houston (1986), Bruce Matthews (2007), Mike Munchak (2001), and Warren Moon (2006).  The Titans also have a few retired jersey numbers, and they are as follows:
# 1 - Warren Moon - QB - 1978-2000
# 34 - Earl Campbell - RB - 1978-1985
# 43 - Jim Norton - S/P - 1960-1968
# 63 - Mike Munchak - G - 1982-1993
# 65 - Elvin Bethea - DE - 1968-1983
# 74 - Bruce Matthews - OL - 1983-2001
