The Pittsburgh Steelers were established in 1933, as the Pirates, making them the 5th oldest franchise in the NFL. They are also the most championed franchise and are the current Super Bowl Champs. The team changed their name to the Steelers in 1940, and have remained so ever since, with 2 exceptions. Due to player shortages because of the war, they became the Phil-Pitt Steagles in 1943, and were Card-Pitt in 1944. This season promises to be the most exciting one yet!
