The Verizon Center, located in Washington, D.C., in the heart of Chinatown, is a fabulous venue for sporting and entertainment events! The Verizon Center is home to the Washington Capitals, the Washington Wizards, the Washington Mystics, and the Georgetown Hoyas. Additonally, the arena has seen some great performances, including, but not limited to, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Beyonce, Hannah Montana, and the Jonas Brothers.
Children 3 and older require tickets to all basketball and hockey games. For Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and Disney on Ice events, children 2 and older require a ticket. For the Wiggles, children 1 and older need a ticket.
Doors open an hour before show or game time.
Still cameras are allowed for all basketball and hockey games. For concerts, the camera policy varies from show to show. However, video cameras and recorders are not allowed for any concert.
Outside food and beverage are prohibited at all Verizon Center events.
Strollers are allowed, but must be checked in with Guest Services prior to going to your seat. You may pick the stroller back up at the end of the event.
There are 2 entrances to the arena. The main entrance is at F St., NW and the other is at 7th and G Streets, NW, by the Gallery Place movie theatres.
Guests are allowed to bring in one bag no larger than 13"x9 1/2"x6".
From Ronald Reagan National Airport:
Take the George Washington Memorial Parkway North
Take the I-395 North exit towards Washington
As the road splits, bare left onto US-1 and follow to 14th St. Bridge
Cross over the 14th Street bridge and stay on 14th Street, NW
Make a right onto Constitution Ave.
Turn left onto 7th Street and the Verizon Center will be on the corner of F and 7th Streets
From Washington Dulles International Airport:
Turn onto the Dulles Access Road
Dulles Access Road turns into I-66 East
Continue on US-50/I-66 East
Take the US-50 East/Constitution Ave. exit
Stay straight to go onto Constitution Ave., NW
Turn left onto 7th Street and the Verizon Center is on the corner of F and 7th Streets
From Baltimore-Washington International Airport:
Follow Airport exit
Turn slight left onto I-195 West
Take the MD-295 South (Balt/Wash Pkwy) ramp towards Washington
Merge onto 295 South towards Washington
Merge onto US-50 West
Continue on 50 West as it turns into New York Avenue
Turn left on 7th Street and the Verizon Center is on the corner of F and 7th Streets
From all points, in all directions, follow signs to downtown Washington. When in the downtown area, follow signs to Verizon Center.
The Verizon Center has its own parking garage located on 6th St., NW underneath the building, and it is only open for concerts at a charge of $25 for event parking. The garage is not open for public parking for Washington Wizards or Washington Capitals games, with the only exception being for people with disabilities. The garage opens 1 1/2 hours before game/show time and closes 1 hour after the conclusion of the game or event. In instances where the Verizon Center garage is closed to the general public for events, there are several public parking garages near the building that are viable options: Gallery Place parking garage on 6th St., NW; the public garage next door to Rosa Mexicano Restaurant on F St., NW; and the public garage located near 7th and I Streets, NW.
Metro
The Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro Stop on the Red Line drops you off right at the arena. Additional stops within a few blocks are Navy-Archives, Metro Center, and Judiciary Square.
