The Texas Rangers are members of the West Division of the American League. The team was established in 1961, and has been playing in Arlington since 1972. Their current home field is the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, where they have been since 1994. The current owner is Tom Hicks, the current manager is Ron Washington, and the current general manager is Jon Daniels. Since the team was originally based in Washington, D.C. (called the Senators), fans were outraged when they moved to Texas. But by 1974, the Rangers were doing better than they had done in Washington, and fans were attending games. Because the stadium got so hot in the summer time (which was an initial reason fans weren’t attending games), the team decided to play their home games during the hottest months at night time. That is still the case today. One of the most notable Ranger, who made it in to the Hall of Fame is Nolan Ryan, who received his plaque in 1999. All Rangers ticket orders are shipped via FedEx, with a signature requirement. Most ticket orders are shipped the same or next day. CALL |
