Phoenix International Speedway in Phoenix, Arizona opened in 1964 to the name of “The Desert Jewel.”  It is a 1 mile, short tri-oval and it seats 76,800.  In April, Phoenix will host the Subway Fresh Fit 500 and the Checker Auto Parts 500 presented by Penzoil in November for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  The NASCAR Nationwide Series will be there in April for the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 and in November for the Arizona Travel 200.  Phoenix will also see the drivers of the NASCAR Craftsman truck series for the Casino Arizona 150.
