They moved and changed their name in 1963, joining the NFL in the merger. The owners of the team are the Hunt Family, the general manager is Carl Peterson, and the head coach is Herman Edwards. The Kansas City Chiefs play their home games at Arrowhead Stadium, which, in 2005, was named one of "The Toughest Places to Play" by Sports Illustrated because it is the loudest outdoor stadium in the NFL. Following are the Pro Football Hall of Fame members who were members of the Kansas City Chiefs: Marcus Allen (2003), Bobby Bell (1983), Buck Buchanan (1990), Len Dawson (1987), Lamar Hunt (1972), Willie Lanier (1986), Marv Levy (2001), Joe Montana (2000), Warren Moon (2006), Jan Stenerud (1991), Hank Stram (2003), Emmitt Thomas (2008), Mike Webster (1997). The Chiefs also have many official and unofficial retired jersey numbers: Beginning this season, the team's Lamar Hunt/American Football League tribute patch will become a permanent part of the Chiefs uniform. After a disappointing 2007 season, the Chiefs fired offensive coordinator Mike Solari, receivers coach Charlie Joiner, and running backs coach James Saxon. Chan Gailey will be the new offensive coordinator, Eric Price will be the new wide receivers coach, Bob Bicknell is the offensive lines coach, Joe D'Alessandris is the assitant offensive line coach, and Curtis Modkins will be the running backs coach.
