Pimlilco Race Track Security Policies for Black Eyed Susan and Preakness Stakes

New policy as of 2008:

Guests are NO LONGER permitted to bring alcohol into the Grandstand or Clubhouse sections of the track.

Cooler restrictions:

• Grandstand and Clubhouse- Coolers, backpacks and thermoses are NOT permitted. Outside food and drink are allowed. You must bring food in a clear, see-through plastic container no larger than 18”x18”.  Beverages (non-alcoholic only) must be carried in plastic containers or regular sized cans.
  
• Turfside Terrace and Clubhouse Turn Reserved- Coolers, backpacks and thermoses are NOT permitted. Outside food and drink are NOT allowed.
  
• Top of the Stretch- Coolers must be 12”x12” or smaller.
  
• Infield- Coolers, backpacks and thermoses are permitted. Coolers larger than 28"L x 15"w x 17"h will be prohibited.

Items ALLOWED for Grandstand, Clubhouse and Infield:

• Individual sodas, carried in plastic containers or regular size cans.
  
• Individual beer and wine carried in plastic containers or regular size cans. (INFIELD ONLY)
  
• Picnic Lunches
  
• Beach blankets and suntan lotion
  
• Cellular phones, cameras (up to 35mm), camcorders and binoculars
  
• Lightweight plastic lawn chairs (INFIELD ONLY) 

Items PROHIBITTED anywhere at Pimlico:

• Liquor or drugs of any kind
  
• Weapons of any kind
  
• Tents
  
• Hibachis or BBQs
  
• Ladders, scaffolding or other raised devices
  
• Kegs of Beer (including keg balls)
  
• Bulk or over-sized carrying devices
  
• Non-folding and folding metal furniture
  
• Hand and wheeled carts
  
• All glass containers

Preakness Day Gates: Gates open at 8:00 am.  Clubhouse turned reserve, crossings for Turfside Terrace and Preakness Village open at 10:00 am.  Preakness Way gates close at 2:00 pm.  Rogers Avenue gate closes at 5:00 pm.  Clubhouse and Hayward gates close at 6:00 pm.

Black-Eyed Susan Day Gates:  Gates open at 10:00 am.  Gates close at 5:30 pm.

I-70 towards Baltimore. Exit #91 (A-B Baltimore/Glen Burnie/New York/Towson). Exit #18A, Right onto Liberty Rd. Left onto W. Northern Pkwy. Right onto Park Heights Ave. Left onto Belvedere Ave.

From BWI:
From I-195, take exit #2A onto the Baltimore Washington Parkway towards 295. Keep right onto Russell St. (local 395). Take ramp onto Martin Luther King Blvd. Bear right onto W. Read St. Bear left onto N. MLK Blvd, then an immediate right onto W. Biddle St. Left onto N. Charles St. Left Ramp onto I-83 Jones Falss Expressway to Exit #10B. Left onto Northern Parkway. Left onto W. Belvedere Ave.

From Bethesda: 
I-495 to exit # 27 onto I-95. Exit #49B onto I-695. Exit #18A towards Liberty Rd./Lochearn. Right onto Liberty Rd. Left onto Northern Parkway. Right onto Park Heights Avenue. Left onto W. Belvedere Ave.

From Annapolis:
Aris T Allen Blvd/I-97 to Exit #17A onto I-695 towards Baltimore. Exit #7B to Baltimore Washington Parkway. Right onto Russel St. (local 395). Parking: 

Rogers R Lots:
Enter through Woodcrest off Northern Pkwy. Follow signs and attendants' instruction to park in Rogers Lots. Exit using side streets to Northern Pkwy.

Clubhouse Official Lot #1 and Valet Lot #2:
Enter via Hayward Ave. to the Maple Ave. entrance or Belvedere Ave. Exit via Hayward Ave. or Belvedere Ave.

VIP Hayward Lot #3:
Enter via Winner Ave. Exit via Winner Ave. to Northern Parkway.

Lot #4:
Cars enter via Preakness Way. Exit via Preakness Way.

Special Traffic Patterns:

Rogers Ave. is closed to all vehicle traffic from Winner Ave. to Northern Parkway from 10:00 pm Friday, May 16th through 9:00 pm Preakness night, May 17th.  Pedestrian foot traffic only.

Winner Ave. will be one-way Northbound from Hayward Ave. to Rogers Ave. from 10:00 pm Thursday night, May 15th until 9:00 pm Preakness night, May 17th.

Winner Ave. will remain two-way from Rogers Ave. to Northern Parkway until 5:00 pm Preakness night, May 17th.

Winner Ave. will becomes one-way Northbound from Rogers Ave. to Northern Parkway beginning at 5:00 pm Preakness day, May 17th to 9:00 pm, Preakness night.

Hayward Ave. will be one-way Eastbound from Park Heights Ave. to Winner Ave. beginning at 7:00 am Preakness morning, May 17th until 3:00 pm Preakness Day.

Your tickets will arrive by FedEx and signature is required. Every effort will be made to deliver your tickets as soon as possible. In some cases tickets are delivered the week before, or the week of the event. Overnight and Saturday delivery may be arranged for an additional charge. In some cases will call can be arranged; the will call fee is separate from the ticket cost. Please ask a sales representative for delivery or will call options. Tickets ordered in groups of 2 or 4 can be grouped together. Odd or large numbers of tickets may not be grouped together; contact our office for details. If ordering your tickets online, you must order at least 72 hours prior to the event. Call our office to place your order if the event is less than 72 hours away. Prices listed on this site reflect a 3% cash or secured funds discount. We reserve the right to upgrade your seats, at no additional cost to you.
