New Nationals Park

The Washington Nationals have a new stadium to call home this season. The plans were announced, and ground-breaking began in 2006 for the new 41,000 seat stadium.  New Nationals Stadium is located in Southeast D.C. along the Anacostia River with specatular views of the waterfront, the Navy Yard, the Capitol, the Washington Monument, and state-of-the-art accomodations. It marks the cornerstone of the riverfront re-development in the District.  It is also striving to become the first stadium in the United States to be accredited as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System certified ballpark. Close attention is being paid to the health of the adjacent river, including stormwater management and water pollution.  The New Nationals Stadium promises to offer a fantastic game day experience, with better views and seating, new technology in and around the stadium, and more accomodations.

New Nationals Park:  Driving Directions and Parking Information

The Washington Nationals strongly urge you to take the Metro into the city to get to the new Nationals Park. The Navy Yard Metrorail station on the Green Line is only a half block walk to the new ballpark. There are over 57,000 parking spaces at Metro facilities. So don't worry- you can find parking! Parking is usually $5 or less, and parking is free at Metro stations on the weekends and on federal holidays. So go to a game on Saturday and Sunday- you won't have to pay for parking if you take the Metro.

Another option is to park for free at RFK Stadium in Lot 8, and take the Nats Express roundtrip shuttle to and from the game. The shuttle will begin an hour and a half before game time to and hour and a half after the last inning. It will let passengers off near new Nationals park.

If you do decide to drive into the city, there are several parking options available. Listed below are directions to the colored lots surrounding New Nationals Park.
