Birchmere Information

The Music Hall opens and seating begins at 6:00 pm. Shows start at 7:30 pm, unless otherwise noted.
The Birchmere is general admission; therefore seating is done on a first come first served basis. In order to keep the process running smoothly, all customers are to pick up a line number when they arrive, and seating is based on the line numbers. Line numbers can be picked up from the box office starting at 5:00 pm. Line numbers are not used for Bandstand shows.
All seating is at tables, unless it is a Bandstand show.
The bar opens at 5:00 pm and the kitchen opens at 6:00 pm.
There are no drink minimums.
While there is no formal dress code policy, men are asked to refrain from wearing tank tops or cutoffs.
All people, regardless of age, need a ticket.
Silence is requested while the performer is on stage.
No audio or video recorders are allowed.
You must remain seated during the performance, unless a dance floor is set up.
No cameras are allowed.
Smoking is only allowed in the bar.

Directions

The Birchmere Building cannot be seen from the roadway. Turn onto the driveway where you see the YELLOW sign that says "Birchmere Entrance" and go straight back to the building.

From South of Wash DC to Alexandria, VA
Take I-95 North to 395 North to the Glebe Road south exit.
Follow South Glebe Road (do not turn onto West Glebe Road) around the bend towards
your left to the third traffic light. Make a right turn onto Mt. Vernon Avenue.
Go approx. .4 miles up from S. Glebe Road and the Birchmere is on the left side just past the AutoZone Store. Go straight back to the building entrance. There is plenty of free parking on site.

From North of DC to Alexandria, VA
Take I-95 South to 495 West (toward No. Va.), follow to 395 North
Stay on I-395 north to the Glebe Road south exit. Follow South Glebe Road (do not turn
onto West Glebe Road) around the bend towards your left to the third traffic light.
Make a right turn onto Mt. Vernon Avenue.
Go approx. .4 miles up from S. Glebe Road and The Birchmere is on the left side just past the AutoZone Store. Go straight back to the building entrance. There is plenty of free parking on site.

From Washington DC
14th sreet south across 14th street bridge.
Take left hand exit for Rte 1 South.
Follow Rte 1 thru Crystal City, to stoplight at S. Glebe Rd.
Turn right onto S. Glebe Rd.
Follow to second stoplight, turn left onto Mt.. Vernon Ave.
Go approx .4 miles & The Birchmere is on the left, just past the AutoZone, at 3701
