"I am certain that after the dust of centuries has passed over our cities, we, too, will be remembered not for our victories or defeats in battle or in politics, but for our contribution to the human spirit."
— President John F. Kennedy

President Kennedy's words resonate more strongly than ever as the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts enters the 21st century. The Center, now in its 30th season, continues its efforts to fulfill his vision by producing and presenting an unmatched variety of theater and musicals, dance and ballet, orchestral, chamber, jazz, popular and folk music, and multi-media performances for all ages. Each day the institution that bears his name brings his dream to fruition, touching the lives of millions of Americans through thousands of performances by the greatest performers from across America and around the world, nurturing new works and young artists, serving the nation as a leader in arts education and creating broadcasts, tours, and education and outreach programs. Hours and Fees for Performance Parking

The Kennedy Center Parking Garage is open every day from 6 a.m. until midnight.

Clearance
The overhead clearance inside the garage is six feet. Parking for oversized vehicles is available in designated areas outside of the building.

Off-Site Parking
Although the Kennedy Center makes full use of all parking spaces on busy performance evenings, there are many days when the parking demand is greater than the number of spaces that are available. Columbia Plaza at 2400 Virginia Avenue has an abundant number of parking spaces available to Kennedy Center patrons. The Center operates a free shuttle bus service to and from Columbia Plaza that begins every performance evening at 6 p.m., at 1 p.m. on weekend matinee days only and concludes at 30 minutes past the last performance. Please be advised that the red Kennedy Center shuttle buses are wheelchair accessible. For those so inclined, however, Columbia Plaza is only a short ten minute walk from the Kennedy Center.

Other off site parking is available at Watergate, but on a limited basis. Enter the Watergate garage from New Hampshire Avenue across from the Saudi Embassy.
